I Was Only Given N470,000 Out Of The N8M Ransom Collected – 25-year-old Suspected Kidnapper Arrested
Gaiya Usman, 25, who was detained for allegedly taking part in the kidnapping, admitted to buying clothes with his N470,000 portion of the N8 million ransom.
According to daily post, out of a five-man group suspected of taking part in three kidnappings that netted a total of N8 million, only Usman has been detained thus far.
According to the Command Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, he was apprehended following a manhunt by agents of the Adamawa State Police Command.
Nguroje claimed on Monday that the suspect, who is from Tambo in the Girei LGA, and four other persons who are still at large kidnapped three victims on various occasions and demanded N8 million in ransom.
The suspect explained that he had spent his gains on clothes and that he had only received N470,000 out of the eight million they had received from the families of their victims.
The Police PRO stated that CP Afolabi Babatola, the Commissioner of Police, has directed the state Crack Squad commander to take charge of the investigation, track down the evading suspects, and ensure the conviction of everyone involved in the incidents.
