The rumors that the Igbo women were being assessed for taxation sparked off the November 18, 1929 Aba women protest, a mass revolt of Igbo women against the British tyranny, were 50 died.
50 died instantly. 75 were severely injured.

It’s called the “Aba women protest” not the “Aba women riot”. The British tagged it ‘riot’ in their favor.
