BUA Chairman, Rabiu Rejects APC’s Appointment as Member of Finance Committee
The Chairman of BUA Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu, has declined his appointment to a standing committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Finance.
BUA Group made the announcement in a statement on Friday, citing Rabiu’s commitment to maintaining an apolitical stance and his demanding schedule as reasons for the decision.
The statement expressed appreciation to the APC for considering Rabiu for the role, acknowledging his dedication to economic prosperity and development in Nigeria.
However, it emphasized that Rabiu and BUA Group have consistently maintained an apolitical stance, which is essential to the nature of their business and aligns with Rabiu’s focus on promoting economic growth through business initiatives and philanthropic efforts through ASR Africa.
The statement explained that Rabiu’s decision to decline the appointment was based on two factors: the lack of prior consultation regarding his inclusion on the list and his inability to commit sufficient time due to his demanding schedule.
Despite declining the political appointment, BUA Group reaffirmed Rabiu’s unwavering commitment to contributing to Nigeria’s advancement through strategic investments in the economy and philanthropy, stating that these endeavors will continue to be his primary means of fostering positive societal change, independent of political involvement
